cleaned compressor, now compressor stopped working. Clicking on and off?

Fairly new Coca Cola refrigeration unit @ restaurant. Compressor was cleaned of dust last night. Compressor worked this morning until late afternoon, then stopped working aprox. 6pm tonight. Compressor making clicking noises, but failes to turn on. Have shut off the Coca Cola Refrigeration unit. Other then calling in a repair, what can be done? Question: what is the cause of this problem?

when a compressor cycles on and off it usually means it needs freon. you must have caused it to leak its freon. the only thing you can do is call a repair man so he can fix the leak.

The compressor should have 2 capacitors, a start capacitor, and a run capacitor. Use a multimeter to test for continuity, one of them may be bad. The clicking that you hear is probably the contactor, it is a relay that turns on the electricity to the compressor.

you can check start components first, then amp draws on start up. You probably hear the thermal disc clicking out on start up.
